For the newer craft beer drinker willing to travel past the one-dimensional Amber Ales they have grown tired of and the eccentric hop head looking to become lost in their travels, Red Ale is the new school craft brewer's progressive and innovative take on the Amber Ale.
Defiant of both style and convention, Red Ale blurs the lines between an American Style Amber and American Style IPA, while creating an entirely new sensory experience. Our brewers hand load our mill with Munich Malts from the most respected German Maltster, Weyermann, in order to create the deep, rich red color, and caramel, cherry and toffee flavors.
Layered over the malts contribution is a hop flavor and aroma only attainable through our generous whole leaf hop additions of Cascade, Simcoe and Chinook in our hop back, five kettle additions during the boil, and then post-fermentation and pre-packaging our cellar workers sneak up to the top of the tank and add one more generous hop addition which gives Red Ale it's fresh bright citrus aroma. All and all, 7 varieties of American hops are used to achieve the tangerine, pine and citrus hop profile the plays nicely with the sweet cherry notes from the malt resulting in a beer that manages to excite both eccentric hop heads and those daring enough to taste the progression of the American Amber.
If the Rocky Mountain Goat thrives due to its ability to adapt to its surroundings, then Red Ale thrives because of its ability to redefine the style it so loosely holds.
Red Ale pairs well with a Valentine's Day Fondue, dark chocolates, and post-bouldering sessions in the Groom Creek Prescott, AZ Bouldering Area.
