Vine Street Pub Block Party Vine Street is throwing an awesome party! From their website:
The Vine Street Pub Hosts A FREE Block Party Saturday, September 17th Featuring Members of YMSB and Leftover Salmon
When we opened the Vine Street Pub more than three years ago in the Uptown Neighborhood of Denver, we soon came to realize what an incredible community we had found. To honor this neighborhood, we're shutting down Vine Street from 17th to 18th Avenues and throwing a shindig for the record books Saturday, September 17th at 1pm.
Immediately following the first-ever Brewer's Olympics, we are very excited to announce that Dave Johnston from the Yonder Mountain String Band and Drew Emmitt from Leftover Salmon will be picking with an all-star line-up of bluegrass players. In true Mountain Sun style, the block party as well as the concert are FREE!
In between sets of smoking bluegrass, the best comics in Denver will descend on the stage for an all-star comedy debate, and you, the audience, will determine the winners of each hilarious debate.
To give back to this incredible neighborhood of Denver, the residents of the Uptown Community have chosen Cancer Support Community Colorado as the beneficiary of the block party. All proceeds from the best beer garden you're likely to see in Colorado and a Mountain Sun BBQ tent will benefit this worthy non-profit.
Cancer Support Community Colorado's mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. The non-profit's mission supports and complements the medical treatment of cancer. Their vision is that no one faces cancer alone.
Vine Street Block Party To Host First-Ever Brewer's Olympics
We can't believe no one has done this before! To kick off the best block party of the year, nearly a dozen breweries from across the front range have assembled Olympic teams to compete for the gold and, of course, bragging rights.
Events Include:
Relay Tricycle Races
The Hand-Cart Obstacle Course
Grain Stacking Relay
Beer Transfer Competition (No tools or vessels allowed!)
The Yeast-Filled Balloon Toss
The Olympics start at 1pm, and the medal ceremony will immediately follow the completion of the final event.
Each participating brewery will be bringing two kegs to contribute to our beer garden. All proceeds from the beer garden support Cancer Support Community Colorado. Participating breweries include: Mountain Sun, Breckenridge, Wynkoop, Upslope, Boulder Beer, Great Divide, Oskar Blues, Twisted Pine, and Avery. www.mountainsunpub.com
